I like to give the "gift" of a KIVA gift card as a birthday present, Mother's/Father's Day, anniversary present, bar or bat mitzvah gift. My gift allows the recipient to choose an entrepreneurial project somewhere in the world that he or she would like to support. The money is given not as a grant but as a loan. Eventually the money is returned to the lender and can then be loaned once again to a new project. Amazing!
